General information about data protection

Data processing when visiting websites

When someone visits a website, (personal) data is automatically transmitted via the Internet. From a technological perspective, this is necessary for the functionalities of the website visit and to provide the best possible results.

Every time someone visits a website, an image is retrieved from a server, an external plugin (or script) is loaded or a video is streamed or any of the many transmission options is used, your computer will send data to the server which you are visiting. When visiting a website, your browser (such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera, Safari) will automatically send specific information about your system. Such data may include:

  • Websites from which the website or file (image, script, video) was retrieved or in which the file integrated (referrer)
  • Operating system
  • Screen resolution
  • Keyboard layout (language)
  • IP address from which the website or file was accessed
  • Name of the accessed website or file
  • Time stamp (date and time) of access
  • Browser name and version
  • Transmitted data volume
  • Access status (file transferred, error code)

This data is logged by each server. Data is logged for

  • maintaining and reviewing IP security (for example to detect hacker attacks).
  • statistical analysis (about the use of the website).
  • website improvement.
  • customized output of website or files so that they are/can be optimized on your end device.

No pseudonymization or anonymization is used for security logs as any conclusion about potential attackers would be impossible. The processing of the data for other purposes is anonymous, no profiles are built. Further information included in this data protection declaration.

The data subject is the person whose personal data is collected and processed. Hereinafter, the data subject will also be referred to as "website visitor" or "user".

Information about the rights of the data subject

Every data subject can assert his/her rights (data subject rights) versus the controller. This can be done via e-mail, post or through a provided form. Requests by telephone are also possible. However, requests are only accepted by telephone and not resolved on the telephone. The controller selects the medium (e-mail, post, other media) and send the data subject the reply to the question through that medium. Replies to requests regarding data subject rights are free of charge. In case of excessive assertion (such as high frequency) of the data subject rights, a fee may be charged. Replies are sent within the legal deadline of one month. In exceptional situations, the deadline may be extended (for example high volume of requests or high complexity of the request). The extension of the deadline must be justified. The rights of the data subject are listed in the following. For a better overview, these rights are noted as key words A link to more detailed explanations is located behind each aspect (link to the pages of HUBIT Datenschutz).

The data subject must authenticate his/her identity to the controller to ensure that s/he is authorized to assert the rights of the data subject.
