Hansen & Rosenthal opens world's largest electrolyzer for environmentally friendly hydrogen

Another milestone on the way to the Green Refinery is set: In the future, Hansen & Rosenthal will operate - at its location in Hamburg - the first specialty refinery in Germany, which produces environmentally friendly hydrogen, integrates renewable energies into industrial production and thereby continually reduces the CO₂ balance. Together with Hamburg's Senator for Economic Affairs Frank Horch we will inaugurate the world's largest power grid load flexible electrolysis unit based on PEM technology (Proton Exchange Membrane) on Friday, November 24, 2017, and thus accelerate our target to convert 90 percent of our mineral oil-based feedstock into high quality products by 2020.
